Adicot, Inc.'s calculators are intended for professionals. Adicot, Inc. makes no warranty of any kind, expressed or implied, concerning the information contained on this website. The information presented on this website shall be used by professionals who understand the implications of the results. If professional services are required, please consult a licensed professional engineer in your location, as building codes differ based on differing jurisdictions. The author and publisher shall not be liable in the event of damages of any kind in connection with, or arising from, the use of the information contained within this website. Any use of this website, including the calculators, is at the user’s sole risk. Use of the website, including the calculators, in any way shall constitute an acknowledgment and acceptance of the foregoing.

Privacy Policy

  • Information you send through the Contact or quote page, including any files you upload, passes through our web application, hosted on Render, and is stored in our Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Google Drive and Gmail). It is used only to reply to you and, for a quote, to prepare your proposal.

  • If you sign up for Calculator Updates, your name and email address are stored in our Google Workspace and in Mailchimp, which sends the updates. They are used only to send those updates, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

  • To have your message or email address removed, use the contact form.

  • The help chat on the calculator pages is an AI assistant. When you ask it a question, your question, the values you have entered and the calculator's results are sent through our web application on Render to Anthropic, whose Claude model writes the answer, under Anthropic's own privacy policy. Please don't type personal information into the chat.

  • Apart from the help chat, the technical calculators run entirely in your browser; nothing you enter in them is sent to Adicot, Inc. or anyone else, unless you open a shared calculator link, whose address carries its values (see Google Analytics below). To save retyping, each calculator remembers the values you last entered, in your own browser's local storage on your device. The Reset button on a calculator clears them, as does clearing your browser's site data. The site also keeps your starred favorites on the Calculators page and your light or dark theme choice there, and nowhere else.

  • Some blog posts include YouTube videos. They use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and load only when you scroll to them; once you play one, YouTube may set cookies under Google's privacy policy.

  • We use Google Analytics to see which pages and calculators people use. It records the address of each page you view (including any values carried in a shared calculator link), the page that sent you here, and general details such as your browser, device type and approximate location, and it sets first-party cookies (named _ga) to tell a returning visitor from a new one. It also records a few actions without their content: that a calculator or its help chat was used, that the Contact, Calculator Updates or quote form was sent, and clicks on links to the Contact page. Nothing you type into a form or a calculator is sent to Google Analytics. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. To opt out, block cookies for this site, or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

  • The Contact, quote, client sign-in and Calculator Updates sign-up forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a spam check that runs in your browser in place of a CAPTCHA, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

  • The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the pages, under its own privacy policy.

  • You can control your data by not entering sensitive information into the Contact page, the calculators or the help chat.

  • We never sell your information, and we share it with no one beyond the services named above.

  • Adicot, Inc. has no affiliate relationships.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. Adicot, Inc. is designed to work with current desktop and mobile browsers and with screen readers. The calculators are ordinary web forms with labeled fields, and they work on phones and tablets as well as desktops.
